Bringing Crystals Into the Feng Shui of your Environment

Even though Feng Shui is an ancient practice, anyone can benefit from bringing the elements and teachings from this practice into your home. Feng Shui is the art of placing items in a space concerning proper spatial placement and energy flow. So in Feng Shui, there are a set of rules to follow, all of which bring the most peace and vitality into your room. Feng Shui can be practiced in the home, office, business, school, and any other place, even in the garden.

Using the five elements of wood, fire, earth, metal, and water, you can create a natural balance and wonderful energy throughout your space. One of the first things to do when you’re using Feng Shui concepts and practices is to clear out the clutter. This means getting rid of anything that you are not using, or as Marie Kondo would say, “Everything that does not Spark Joy.” Once you’ve cleared away things you don’t like anymore, you can bring in more good energy and balance.

Feng Shui is all about finding the perfect place for items, and this includes crystals when you’re displaying them in your home. Some books will tell you the proper Feng Shui placement for your crystals, but a lot of it has to do with understanding the different purposes for each space in the home and the energy they carry. Also, rely on your intuition to tell you where various crystals and items need to be placed to create a good flow and harmony in your home. Learn the Bagua and how it relates to your own home and floor plan. The Bagua is the layout of all of the elements overlayed on top of your floor plan. So you could even draw out a sketch of your floor plan and have the Bagua overlayed on it in a computer program. Or just on paper works too if you’re creative.

Each area of the Bagua holds a different energy, so the North area relates to your career, North West is for helping people, North East is for spiritual growth, East is for health, West is for creativity, South is for fame, South West is for love and marriage, and southeast is for money. If you want to attract more financial abundance, you can add elements of wood and water in the South East area of your home. Crystals that are good for this element include Aquamarine for water and Jasper for wood. If you wanted to improve your health, you could add plants to the East area of your home along with wood element crystals like Jasper or Agate.

The Earth Crystals include Calcite, Agate, Moss Agate, Diamond, Jasper, Jet, Malachite, Onyx, Emerald, and Black Tourmaline.

The Air Crystals include Opal, Aventurine, Topaz, Tiger's eye, Mica, White Fluorite, Turquoise, and Moonstone.

The Fire Crystals include Carnelian, Amber, Ruby, Fire Agate, Apache Tear, Citrine, Fire Opal, Flint, Spinel, Sardonyx, Red Tourmaline, Sunstone, and Sulfur.

The Metal Crystals include Boji Balls, Gold, Silver, Copper, Hematite, Malachite, Pyrite, and Rutilated Quartz.

The Wood Crystals include Jet, Petrified Wood, and Amber.
